The journey typically begins with a speed boat ride from Koh Samui. You’ll explore the famous “Chimney,” (at Sail Rock) a vertical swim-through that allows divers to enter at 18 meters and exit at 12 or 6 meters. Beyond the rock it
self, “Secret Pinnacle” nearby offers even more chances to spot large pelagic species away from the main crowds. Koh Tao (meaning “Turtle Island”) is the smallest of the three major islands in the Gulf of Thailand, famously known as the world’s hub for scuba diving certifications.
